-system
4:
Is our classic system based on a standard 40 mm aluminium window and door
profile.
We frabicate this on our own premises and it incorporates unique drainage,
security features and top quality mechanisms.
Our unique glazing and drainage system means our products can be guaranteed
for a full ten years to not leak or draught and be more secure than other
40 mm system.
-system 7:
To date to the best of our knoledge the system 7 has not been broken in
to by burglars.
Although developed primarilly for ultimate security it incorporates a
unique cross-section providing isolated drainage and high rigidity.
However its unique proportions replicate exactly the dimensions of a traditional
wooden spanish window and ads depth and style to the appearance of any
installation.
The
heavy gauge of the walls of its cross-section allows it to be curved beautifully
into arched windows and doors.
The secret of system 7´s strength is the rim. (see drawing opposite.)
In ordinary windows when great force is applied the rim can be bent to
expose locking mechanisms.
Once a lock is exposed including an upvc profiles it is only a matter
of time before a burglar can gain entry. The system 7 rims is actually
buttress shaped with a heavy aluminium wall. Even a 1 mm thick offcut
piece of this section can not be bent as the whole section has to collapse
in on itself to allow this.
Upvc or aluminium.
In
spain the question often arises which material of window to use, although
each house or situation is unique.
There are certain constants which apply:
Upvc windows and doors have excellent insulation values, due to the width
of the frames. Unfornately in combination frames such as sliders within
curves, conservatories or bay windows the frames can look overly thick
or cumbersom. Upvc lacks the intrevent strength of aluminium. Good quality
upvc will not yellow over time however it does age in that it becomes
mare difficult to clean (it can be seen to be more porous under a microscpe)
one drawback with upvc windows cannot be reinforced.if the rim is not
reinforced it can be bent back to expose locks.once a would be intruder
has access to locks it is only a matter of time until they gain access.
Click on box security more information however upvc is an ideal material
for certain prducts i.e. Roller shutter boxes in upvc have a far superior
seal than their equivalent in aluminium.which is why even when aluminium
frames are specified their respective roller shutter box will always come
in upvc as standard.as a downside to aluminium there is the sweat factor
which happens in cold damp houses,it has nothing to do with the insulation
factor of the frames .in any window the insulation value of the frame
is almost negliagle in the spanish climate .the percentage of surface
area in the vast majority of windows is mainly comprised of the double
glazed unit.because aluminium is a cool surface to the touch, when an excess
of condensation is present in a room it will tend to condense on the frame
and possibly on the double glazing also,in a similar way to mirrors in
steamy bathroom.it is important to recognise that this is a sympton of
an underlying problem in the house requiring attention to damp proofing
and ventilation.aluminium is inherently stronger than upvc giving slimmer
sturdier frames.top quality aluminium does not notceably age which means
it will wipe clean easily for many years.there are a far greater variety
of profiles in aluminium which means many different applications can be
achieved with a much neater slimmer appearance.some systems are only available
in aluminium;glass-curtains and frame glass sliders-again due to the inherent
strengh of the aluminium profile.in spain aluminium is considered to be
the more hard wearing and climate resiliant material and for this reason
it is much more widely used.
